I know that choosing a photographer can be stressful (especially with all the other decisions you have to make), so I want to help you choose the right photographer even if it’s not me!

So what makes me different from other wedding photographers?

Wedding Person

One time I was talking to a couple the morning after a friend’s wedding and they said they were wedding people. Apparently, there are wedding people and non-wedding people.

I’ve been involved in weddings in almost every facet. I’ve been fortunate to be in numerous wedding parties, officiated a few weddings (close friends and family), and, of course, photographed many weddings. I guess you can call me a wedding person. I appreciate all the aspects of weddings: The planning, the couple, their friends and family, and all of the love.

I limit myself to a certain number of weddings yearly because I do not want to burn out. I want to be able to put all my energy into my clients’ special day. Diversity is the spice of life and I enjoy photographing other types of events that give me a different style than most wedding photographers.

Planning/Attention

I will work with you to understand what you want from your wedding photos and, more importantly, what you want from your wedding day. If you have a theme for the wedding, I’ll create a photo story with the theme in mind. I love incorporating the idiosyncrasies of every couple and wedding in my photos. 

You can be as involved in the photography process as you like. Some people like to be hands-off and others know which photos they want. I can work with you no matter what your style is.

I’ll work alongside your other vendors and planner to make sure your day goes smoothly.

Comfort

I’ve heard “I look awkward in photos” or “I don’t know what to do in photos” many times. But the thing is:  everyone can be photogenic.

I will do my best to make sure that we are comfortable with each together because that’s how the best photos happen. Comfort is one of the most important parts of choosing the right photographer for you. It’s entirely possible that I’m not the perfect photographer for you and it’s better to know before the wedding day if that’s the case.

Number of Photos

Unlike some other photographers, I don’t restrict you to a certain number of photos. But I also can’t promise a certain number of photos (I don’t know how some photographers can! But I can promise wonderful candids throughout the day!).

Photo Story

Along with the hundreds (possibly thousands) of photos, I’ll create a photo album that tells the story of your wedding. I do this because I think it’s important to be able to summarize the entire day into an album that’s less than 100 photos and use it to reflect in the future. It’s easier to share with other people too.

Waiting Time

Some photographers take months to get your photos to you. I like to get all the photos edited while the wedding is fresh in my mind and I can recreate the aura as closely as possible. So, that usually means a quick turn around (usually within a week). One thing I like to do is send the photos to the couple near the end of their honeymoon so they can finish off their honeymoon reflecting on their special day.
